Our History

J. Mussell & Son was set up in Guildford in 1927 by James Mussell, moved to Peasmarsh in 1958 and has been at Manor Yard in Godalming since 2001.

However, the Mussell family were original Coach Trimmers, before the advent of the motor vehicle, trimming horse-drawn coaches and carriages since the early 1800s - and possibly before.

The current owners have gone 'back to their roots' and used their expertise to do the button and pleat trim in some of the many horse-drawn vehicles in The Carriage Museum.
